The Germ Terminator Model GT100™
toothbrush sanitizer is an ingenious and incredibly easy-to-use
device designed to protect your long-term health by terminating
germs that breed on your wet toothbrush. The Germ Terminator uses
an exclusive, worldwide patented and patents-pending process designed
to destroy germs through the scientifically-effective and time-tested
use of steam combined with a proprietary automatic drying process.
This groundbreaking medical device kills germs by steaming and drying
them. The toothbrush is then stored in the Germ Terminator’s sanitized
clean chamber. All you need to do is to fill the Germ Terminator’s
water reservoir with water. Filling the reservoir automatically
turns on the Germ Terminator’s “steam” mode. The “dry” mode is then
activated automatically as soon as the “steam” cycle has been completed.
Your sanitized toothbrush stands ready for your next brushing.

Microscopic
cuts in our gums and tongues, often caused by sharp toothbrush bristles,
may be extremely dangerous “portals of entry” for destructive concentrations
of bacteria, viruses, fungi, molds, and yeast that can rapidly breed
on our toothbrushes. This invasion of toothbrush-related germs into
our bloodstreams may spread infections throughout our bodies, placing
constant stress and strain on our immune systems.
These mouth-related
germ infections have been consistently associated with “diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, stroke, and adverse pregnancy outcomes”
(Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General, September
2000).
*The Germ Terminator GT100™ toothbrush sanitizer
is a United States of America FDA- regulated medical device,† a
Canadian-regulated medical device, and is listed with Underwriters
Laboratories Inc. (UL).
†Medical device
manufacturers are required to submit a 510(k) to the United States
Food & Drug Administration and receive subsequent clearance
from the FDA if they intend to introduce a medical device into commercial
distribution. (See the FDA website at www.fda.gov for more information.)

The GT100™ has been extensively tested by major
independent laboratories. It was first tested at an independent
laboratory that used the morning toothbrushings from
human test subjects. These toothbrushings were then pooled together
in an aqueous solution. The toothbrushes were dipped into the solution
for 5 minutes under mild agitation. Before treating the toothbrushes
with the Germ Terminator, the total live bacterial count was found
in the laboratory test results to be “too numerous to count.” After
treatment with the GT100™, tested separately with the toothbrush
bristles facing down and again with toothbrush bristles facing up,
the laboratory was unable to detect any live bacteria whatsoever
when tested separately at 30 minutes, 4 hours and 12 hours after
beginning the steam cycle.
The GT100™
was then tested at two of the largest and most respected FDA-registered
laboratories in the country to confirm these findings. In accordance
with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations, these independent labs
performed microbiological testing on the effect that the GT100™
had on toothbrushes that had been inoculated with the following
representative species of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, including
molds and yeast:
1. E. Coli
2. Staphylococcus aureus
3. Salmonella choleraesuis
4. Listeria monocytogenes
5. Porphyromonas gingivalis
6. Neisseria meningitidis
7. Candida albicans
8. Herpes Simplex Virus - Type 1
9. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) - Type 1
10. Influenza A Virus (Common Flu Virus)
11. Rhinovirus (Common Cold Virus)
12. Hepatitis C Virus
These tests
involved contaminating toothbrushes with at least one million colony-forming
units of the microorganisms per toothbrush. Tests were performed
with the toothbrush bristles facing down in the GT100™ toothbrush
sanitizer, as well as with the bristles facing up.

††After treatment with the GT100™, not even a single microorganism
was detected after any test. In each test, the extreme sensitivity
of the test allowed the laboratories to conclude that the reduction
of each germ tested was greater than 99.9999%, which is otherwise
known as a greater than 6-log reduction. A test with a sensitivity
down to a greater than 6-log reduction means, for example, that
if the lab began testing with a microorganism population of one
million, it would be able to confirm at the end of the test that
not even one microorganism was detectable if such a result is achieved.
Each of the 6-log reduction tests conducted with the Germ Terminator
GT100™ resulted in greater than a 99.9999% reduction in the various
bacterial, viral, fungal, yeast, and mold populations for which
the labs conducted tests. Furthermore, in each of the tests conducted
by the laboratories, no microorganisms whatsoever were detected
after treatment with the GT100™.
Test results
from the laboratories were submitted to the United States Food and
Drug Administration as part of the Germ Terminator’s FDA 510(k)-Medical
Device application. The laboratory-test results were also submitted
to the Therapeutic Products Directorate in Canada as part of Canada’s
medical-device licensing procedures.

Another important protective feature of the
GT100™ is its dry-heated clean chamber that guards each toothbrush
against cross-microbial contamination from any outside source, including
germs from other toothbrushes. Once a toothbrush has been sanitized
in the GT100™, it remains sanitized in the clean chamber until the
next toothbrushing. Upon removing toothbrushes from the GT100™’s
clean chamber 12 hours after they had been sanitized, the independent
laboratories were still unable to detect even a single microorganism
on the same toothbrushes that had been contaminated with massive
numbers of mouth microorganisms before treatment with the GT100™.

With numerous worldwide patents and patents pending,
the Germ Terminator GT100™ is the most effective, simplest-to-use
device ever created to sanitize your toothbrush after every use!
It takes only seconds of your time. Just place your toothbrush inside
the GT100™, place the cover in position, and add water? it’s that
simple. The GT100™ uses time-tested steam and dry heat for consistently
thorough sanitization. With the GT100™ there is no need to expose
your living environment, your toothbrush, and consequently your
health (via the soft tissues and gums of your mouth, your eyes,
your skin, or your lungs), to ultraviolet radiation, ozone (trivalent
or activated oxygen), alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or other disinfecting
chemicals. The GT100™ is not only the most effective method of toothbrush
sanitization (with a germ kill rate of greater than 99.9999% of
all germs tested), it is also the safest.
You will use your Germ Terminator at least twice a day, everyday,
for the rest of your life. How many products do you own that get
that kind of use? Sanitize your toothbrush? it just makes sense.

Without proper toothbrush hygiene, we may reinfect
ourselves over and over again. With up to 100 million germs found
on a single toothbrush in one research study, our toothbrushes can
continually inject a multitude of germs into our bloodstreams through
tiny openings in our gums and tongues that our immune systems may
be unable to safely suppress. This may lead to serious long-term health
risks. In
families, cross-contamination, the spread of germs from one toothbrush
to other toothbrushes, may also occur without proper toothbrush
hygiene.
